Creating Your Custom Contact Page Quickly and Easily
DOWNLOAD THE CONTACT UPDATE PROGRAM:
First things first. ==> RIGHT-CLICK HERE <== and choose "Save Target As..." to download the contact update program (in a zip file named contactupdate.zip).
1) After unzipping the file that you downloaded (contactupdate.zip), start the program by double-clicking the file named contactupdate.exe
1a) The first time that you run this program, you can register your copy (it is not necessary to register to use the software). Fill in your name and email address, and click the "Request Registration Code" button. There's no need to close the program at this point. The registration code will be immediately sent to the email address that you entered.
| It is not necessary to register this software. Just click on the red box with the x in it at the top right of the Gentle Registration Form. That will close the form and you can continue using this software. After clicking the red box x continue to step 2. |
1b) Next, enter the registration code that you received by email and click the "Register Now" button. If you entered the registration code correctly, you'll see a small dialogue pop-up stating "Registration Successful". Now you're ready to begin using the custom contact page update program.
2) The opening screen looks like this:
3) On the righthand side, click the "1" button to reveal the highly detailed instructions.
4) Next, click the "2" button on the righthand side. You'll find 14 text boxes where you will fill in your personal contact information. You can either scroll down the page or tab your way through the list. Before going through this step, read the notes immediately below the following screenshot.
When finished in this area, click the "Save" button to save your contact information.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
If you will not be using a picture, remove any information in text boxes pertaining to graphics (file name and dimensions).
If you plan to use a picture, continue reading.
The file name of your picture graphic (if you choose to use one) should be in all lower case letters and there should be no spaces in the file name.
GOOD: rons-smiling-face.jpg
BAD: Ron's Smiling Face.JPG
Make a note of your graphic's dimensions. You'll need this information in step 2 above.
Q: How do you find this?
A: In Windows Explorer, find the picture graphic file that you want to use and hover your mouse over the file name. You'll see a small info-window pop up with the following information (this is an example only):
Dimensions: 83 x 102
Type: JPEG Image
Size: 3.41 KB
In the dimensions shown above, 83 is the width and 102 is the height. For your contact page, try to keep your picture graphic no larger than 150 pixels wide or long. If you need help resizing a picture, send it to Support and we'll help you with it.
5) Click the "3" button. You are now ready to run the program. Click the "Start" button to run the program and generate your custom contact page.
When the program is done doing its thing, you will automatically see a "Save File" window pop up. Name your file software-ebooks-contact.htm and make a note of the location where you're saving your new contact page. Now you are ready to upload it to your shop.
Next, you will need to write us for FTP access if you don't already have it (click the support button below) so that you can upload your new files to your shop (or choose to hire someone at rentacoder.com or getafreelancer.com or even ask your brother in law. :-) If you read the free ftp manual (see last paragraph) you can teach yourself this skill in a very very short time.

Actually, it's really simple to do ftp, there are lots of helpful sites to show you how and you can download a f'ree ftp manual from here: Manager's Xtra Webmaster Help page as well as find TONS of helpful webmastering tips, where to learn HTML and many excellent free ways to promote your shop. Although there are a few product recommendations on the page, most of the resources are completely free and ALL of them are there to help YOU succeed.
