A quick explanation: The shops will 'carry' TWO kinds of "exclusive to SoftShops" products that people can only get From a SoftShop (or handful of SuperSites) - those 'direct' products where you get 100% (like SuperLinker) to your account, and those where you get a commission (like DeadEasy - software actually comes from my supersite) from our account.

Every month, you will get a unique 'direct' product created by me. We also decided back in Feb. to add each month an 'exclusive to SoftShops' commission product (which you get paid for at the end of each month).

Q: Who provides customer support for the products on my SoftShop?

A: We suggest that you, as the manager of your SoftShop, act as the first line of defense when it comes to customer support. When faced with a question for which you don't know the answer, we'll always be here to assist you.

Follow-Up Q: Do you mean that I need to learn each piece of software well enough to support it?

Follow-Up A: Yes, EVENTUALLY (don't panic, give yourself some time) you should understand the products well enough to answer basic questions. Don't feel like you need to have the same knowledge as the guy who created it, but the same knowledge that helps you support the products also helps you sell the products.

That's it. Don't try to do too many things at one time. Lack of focus is what causes most people to fail. With the Imminent Launch of the IBSoftShops...
there are three things that must be done before your SoftShop goes live...

1) Register your "crazy name" domain. Additional information regarding "crazy name" domains is included HERE on the SoftShop Quick Start page.

2) After registering your "crazy name" domain, update your manager's records for us. We need you to enter your "crazy name" domain in your manager's license record.

• When you do this, please enter the format like this: www.yourcrazyname.com.
• Don't forget to include your crazy name's ending top level domain (TLD) extension (i.e. .com, .net, .biz. .org, .etc)
• It's not necessary to include "http://" when you update this part of your license record.

21% of you still have not completed your License form, or it is filed, but incomplete. It is the one task that we must have everyone do, before the INCREDIBLY critical shop database can be built. For some weird reason, it is always the part of the process that gives the most trouble.

How can you know if you've done this step successfully?...

The way that you'd know that your manager's license submission was successful is that after filling in the form fields that were required and clicking the "submit" button, the script would have automatically generated a webpage (plain old text on a white background) that represented the completed license.

This license should have also been sent to you via email from wizard@claysoft.com. If you saw the webpage as described above but did not receive the license copy via email, Joe's email most likely got blocked by your ISP's filters.

So what have Joe and I been doing, lounging under a tree (as one moron suggested)? I wish! <lol>

We have been improving your softshop businesses. We weren't quite happy enough with something that we produced.

For example:

All of the products I designed (the four new products introducing a brand new technology) have been changed at least 3 times, and re-tested. DeadEasy (the official "March" product), for example, has been sent back 6 times! Joe R. - who works diligently to maintain his own status as a newbie user (and could, I swear, mess up even perfect software!) - is VERY picky about "newbie" features, and I am VERY picky about making sure the software runs even on every screwed-up version of windows.

NOTE: Keep in mind, you are starting with FOUR 'never before seen, no other web site in the world has' products, instead of the one a month, which starts next month (the March product is the DeadEasy product). And the software is doing things - especially for newbies - that NO ONE else has done, as yet. Takes a little extra work.

We also discovered a third new technology while revising DeadEasy - it now is able to include audio that is compressed 24% - 38% better and smaller than MP3! (you probably have no idea of the commercial impact of super tiny audio, but believe me, it's BIG).

And then there was the two hour discussion about a problem we KNOW you will have: a "downloads" that caused me to change 600 scripts for the sites to "fix" it FOR YOU.. Joe and I discussed a BIG problem that OUR business has, that yours COULD have, and ways to mitigate that for you. It has to do with the large number of people who will buy products, and then:

...Lose the download page
...Lose the passwords
...never receive "the product" because they are using email filters,
...File complaints against you because they could not reach you thru your filters, after not receiving "product" because of THEIR email filters
...Can't figure out how to download
...Can't find the file after they download
...freak out when they see install programs that ask questions,
etc.,
etc.

It happens to us on our sites EVERY SINGLE DAY. Our concern: How do we mitigate the amount of that crap you receive? How do we make it easy for you to deal with? I won't get into the details, but I spent several days contemplating the issue after my talk with Joe, then spent FOUR DAYS making changes to the system and scripts to do exactly that: reduce the amount of crap you will have to handle, and make it easier to handle. And I am not quite done.

While Joe and are are not quite perfectionists (yeh, right! :->), we would rather spend some extra time to get things right, and offer the absolute best business posible, then launch with less an unknown problem.

So for those who wanted to know, that is what is going on.

1) Newbie Training.

Bob Chambers, the "MultiMedia Guy" who did the Google adwords video - a very important tool - will be doing others for us, on Traffic Generation items such as using pay-per-click engines.

Joe and I will sift thru the ebooks and articles available out there that WE think are worth using, get the rights, and provide them to you via the managers page. YOU, must read them. :-)

Joe and I will be creating and providing small, short, to the bloody point, "talking" ebooks about the things related to marketing your business that you need to know, as well as other related topics.

We have already created a tutorial on how to add products to SoftShops and SuperSites.

2) Tools To Help You

We will find them, and install them. Some free, some cheaply - you will have the option of taking or passing.

3) OTHER Products Form Other people

You did NOT pay for this, but we will do it anyway. If everyone are nice boys and girls. <lol> :-)

IN ADDITION to the products we create for you each month, we will be looking for NEW products introduced on the net with resell rights.

These products automatically get added to the SuperSites. BUT, a few will also get added to the SoftShops. NO PROMISES how often, or how many. But it WILL happen.

4) Ways To GROW Your SoftShops

Beyond the products we provide.

You are allowed to buy or create YOUR OWN PRODUCTS, and add them to your Shop.
We are working on software RIGHT NOW - based on SoftGin - that will allow you to "PLUGIN" a product into your SoftShop. CLICK HERE to visit the IBSoftShop Customization page.

NICHE MARKETS are all the rage. Truthfully, they have been the key to marketing SUCCESS for 100 years. Find a target, and then go after that - cheaper, easier, and you will make many times more money.

The SoftShops are already "Niche-oriented". We will take that a step further.

Joe and I are creating entire Product Lines around various Niche Markets, and setting them up so they can be added to your SoftShop for you. NO, they will not be free. But they will be VERY cheap - you will be able to "ADD" an entire NICHE PRODUCT LINE with several products ALL related to that Niche, for about $70 !!!!! That INCLUDES us installing the products on your shop for you.

THIS IS AN EXTRA BENEFIT. It will NOT impact or change the monthly product thing. :-)

5) Cheap Services To Help

We have plans to provide as many helpful services as we can, as cheap as we can manage.

FOR EXAMPLE:

An advertising co-op. Joe and I will create ads that send traffic/buyers to a rotation system, that will "cycle" the traffic/buyers thru a list of SoftShops that are participating, in succession (when it reaches the end, it starts over at the beginning with the next traffic visitor/buyer). The idea is, by "pooling" the money paid by each shop on the co-op, you can get more traffic for half the price.

Also, I am working on software tools designed to create traffic.

THAT is JUST a peek at the plans we have. More to come.

My Grandmother once told me, God Bless her, that, even if I made a fair wage, as long as I was helping others, I was still doing "God's Work". It was always her credo: "Joey, don't preach, DO."

I truly believe she would be proud.

Other Information :

• The IBSoftShops will NEVER be finished. We will always have products to add, changes to make, work to do. Stay in touch and keep your eyes peeled for IBSoftShop updates.
  
  
• A WORD ABOUT the IBSoftShop design. It may not look it, but 17 people - including (shudder) marketers - contributed their thoughts to the overall layout and design of the IBSoftShops. Why? Because we needed a design that accomplished 3 things:
  
  - was search engine friendly, WITHOUT hurting sales and sales copy (VERY difficult)
  - attractive, without being busy, fast loading and easy to navigate for the user
  - AND still be easy to expand and add protects to, INCREDIBLY FAST, without having to reload and redesign the entire site each time a new product - and that products sales copy - had to be integrated into the over-all site
  
  A quick example: some people love to use frames to fill the page with links and offers and graphics, etc. BUT, search engines can NOT index frames, AND all that extra stuff detracts from the product you are trying to sell.
  
  ALSO, this is a world market. 54% of the people around the world are still using screens set at 800x600 AND many of the others, do NOT use their browser at Max size. SO, the pages are designed by default to display properly in 800x600, which also 'works' at higher resolutions. It would be REALLY foolish to blow off 54% of your customers by designing pages at a resolution that does NOT display well at 800x600
  
  I have been at this for over 30 years, so I know what works. I'll match my results, against fancy, over-loaded 'art' designs, any day of the week. :-)
  
  
  
• We have a SUPPORT TEAM. Their job is to help me 'grow' the IBSoftShop sites - add products - AND to help YOU. The team consists of 4 people:

  The Second is COST ELIMINATION. You do not have to pay anyone to maintain your site, to host your site, to update your site, to improve your site...we do ALL of that for you. We own the sites, so we take care of them - you just collect the profits.
  
  The Third is a TRUE BUSINESS for you. The sites are designed such that you can 'plug-in' your own products and services, ones that only you provide, on your own site.
  
  The Fourth is a EASIER SALES. Why? The trust factor. Site certified by Tiger help impart trust into your prospective buyer. AND, so does selling from a site with LOTS of products. You don't look like a 'one product wonder.'
  
  Other benefits include SPECIAL STATUS. You are my 'ultimate' partners, which means special things are in store for you.
  
  Basically, you just advertise, answer emails, and collect money. WE DO EVERYTHING ELSE.
• Unlike Free Software Forever, this is not a membership in any shape or fashion. The legal structure of the IBSoftShops is what makes this possible. I own the sites selling the products, and I own the products, and they are all downloaded from one central location on MY server. Legally, I can not be forced to keep the profits - this is America! - and, like selling to Wal-Mart, I can own and sell from as many stores as I like, and give you the profits.
  
  
• You may add your own products to the site, within reason - we do not allow things like porno, etc. You can not modify/delete or interfere with the existing pages and products, but you can build your own unique business upon the core of the IBSoftShop business. As each site is a full-blown web site, you can create a download area for your own products, AND add scripts for other things.
  
  
• OPT-IN list building (for you) is built-in to the IBSoftShops. EVERY SALES PAGE has an opt-in system integrated into the page where they can sign-up to receive FREE SOFTWARE - provided by ME - and a newsletter - again, I take care of that. You share the use of that list with me (and I will never solicit those emails with a IBSoftShop product - you get to do that). The customer names and emails are ALSO captured as part of the ordering process.
  
  
• Sites will be backed up WEEKLY, to an off-site location AWAY from the servers.
  
  
• You WILL be able to sell AFFILIATE Products from OTHER sites/people from your IBSoftShop, though you will have to set up a IBSoftShop page for that product (or pay one of the support team people to do it.)
  
  
• You MUST have your 'crazy name' in place before your site is transferred - a domain name that POINTS to the IP address of your IBSoftShop. CLICK HERE to visit the IBSoftShop Quick-Start page.
  
  
• I am working on a special version of SiteGin for adding products to your IBSoftShop, for those of you that have been paying attention and figured out that making your own product, and selling that, is THE way to make a living!
  
  

BUSINESS BASICS: The TRUTH About email

I am going to get deadly serious with you for a minute, because so many people ignore this:

An INCREDIBLY CRITICAL aspect of you business, will be your contact email address. Doing business on the net will ALWAYS involve email at one point or another. period. Get used to it.

FIRST, people will NOT do business with you if they can not contact you, both before and after the sale. Either they will not buy, or will demand a refund, if they can not reach you and feel "ignored."

SECONDLY, you will CONSTANTLY have to deal with the geniuses that have filtered email accounts, and scream at you for not sending mail - be it a response, download info, a password change, etc., - when you - or our automated delivery system! - in fact DID send an email, it just got deleted on THEIR end. If their complaint is deleted/missed on YOUR end for the same stupid reason, it just compounds the problem. We are working on things (methods, software, etc.) to help with that problem, but it WILL be a problem regardless. (at least until people wake up, stop whining, by a $29 program to do their own filtering, and tell their ISP's to knock it off).

IF YOU - as now, the vendor - INSIST on using a "filtered" contact email address IT WILL BE YOUR OWN FAULT IF YOUR BUSINESS FAILS. If you APPEAR to 'blow off' your customers - even accidently - because you hate "spam," you WILL fail. period. Do NOT let your ISP dictate your sucess. YOU MUST HAVE AN UNFILTERED (at your email provider) ADDRESS. If you must filter, do it on your PC.

WHAT is the IMPORTANT thing:
Putting Up With several Hundred Spam messages a Day
OR
NOT LOSING CUSTOMERS !!??

NOTE: I have a UNIQUE problem myself. My ISP (the only one I have available for high speed) REFUSES not to filter my personal (wizard) email, because of the hacker and DOS attacks. AND, we KNOW that we are on dozens of "blacklists" on the net. So I bought an unfiltered email address at yahoo. And now, I also use 'groups" to reach people like my SoftShop owners.

It is a FACT that ALL the "big" ISP's filter email. THEY ADVERTISE the fact they do, as an incentive to "sign up!" AOL, Earthlink, Juno, Netzero, Comcast, Cox, Sympatico, Netscape, AT&T, PeoplePC, etc., etc. ALL of them. They filter AND THEY USE "BLACKLISTS". They NEVER turn blacklists off - and ANY IDIOT on AOL, for example, can blacklist you and your business, just by using that silly icon AOL provides them that says "blacklist the sender of theis email". And they share those blacklisted addresses around the net. BECAUSE IT SAVES THEM MONEY (BANDWIDTH is NOT free) NOT TO DELIVER OR FORWARD YOUR EMAIL.

ONE OTHER THING: Do NOT use a service like Spam Arrest. Only a VERY FOOLISH person would "sign" that agreement the make ALL INCOMING MESSAGES senders "sign". Why? Because it says the people trying to email you have to pay Spamarrest (NOT YOU) $2000 dollars if SpamArrest decides their emails (to you) are spam! And automated emails, like a product delivery, would also NOT reach anyone using Spamarrest and similar services.

Oh yeh - and NO one blacklists yahoo, but you DO have to tell yahoo not to filter your mail, even on their premier paid service, when you have an account there. Same for Google mail.

Do yourself a favor, and follow our advice. Get an unfiltered email address, and file that with your license. RE-DO the license, if necessary. BUT DO IT.
